A computer outage blocked student and staff access to various College of the Desert online services Tuesday.
It was unclear what caused the outage, but college officials said access was restored by late Tuesday morning to Canvas, Adobe and Microsoft Teams services. Efforts were continuing to restore other services.
By Tuesday afternoon, the college set up a temporary website at www.CODNews.org to restore access to services such as counseling and summer class resources.
“While the college’s systems are down, students will not be dropped from classes due to non-payment of fees,” the college’s Nicholas Robles said.
He added that classes also will not be canceled or impacted.
The college’s Information Technology staff was working with an outside firm to help repair the disruption.
Faculty, students and staff will receive regular updates through COD’s text alert system as information becomes available, officials said.
